Thanks Brisbane for a great week - but our adventure starts now as we fly into the Outback of Australia - and into towns even most Aussies haven’t heard of.
We landed in 36 degree heat in Moree, after a flight that took us over lush countryside, farms, meandering rivers and the Great Dividing Mountain range. Moree is a small town of just 8000 residents - the size of the Leicestershire village of Sileby where I go to the gym.

Crossing the Great Dividing Range
Boy, did the heat hit us.
There was no rest for the wicked as they say, and we spent the afternoon with Dick - the largest producer of orange juice in Australia.

A true Australian farmer, passionate about oranges - a good job as he has over half a million of them on his farm. From planting the small trees until they are at maximum yield is a decade long investment - he spoke so lovingly about his farm that it was impossible not to be drawn in. He sells to Coles in Australia - I guess the equivalent of Tesco in the UK (other supermarkets are available). Fun fact number 120 from him is that 45% of people don’t like “bits” in their juice. I haven’t quite decided which side I’m on, but I do know I like it with a tot of vodka!
Tonight Captain Cockpit is back on duty with Australian commentator Jim Maxwell. If you remember, we are out here to help raise awareness and funds for a brilliant charity called Angel Flight. Every where we go people sing their praises. They tell stories of how the volunteer pilots help ferry them to and from vital hospital treatments from isolated towns hundreds of miles away from the major cities.
Let’s hope it’s another successful night.
